                              "Where Pigs CAN Fly"
The Pampa Outback Radio Control Society was formed in November of 2007, and chartered by A.M.A. the same month. The charter members of PORKS had been trying to revive the defunct local club and flying site for several months with no success. In November of 2007, these people formally met at the current flying site, formulated the Rules and By-laws of PORKS, and applied for charter with A.M.A.  Then the struggle really began.

The flying site and meeting place was obtained without problem, but construction of the site with very limited funds became the next hurdle for
the members. Many days of volunteer work by all members finally resulted
in clearing of the site, and a runway and pit area being established, and the flying began. PORKS held the first event in June of 2007. An open house
and fly in. Pilots and observers from several cities were the order of the day, and the first event was a success. Work continues to improve our flying site, with the latest project being laying of mat on the runway. The Amarillo Radio Kontrol Society graciously donated the mat removed from their field as a result of the rejuvenation of their site, in an effort to help our struggling funding situation.

The work continues and events are being planned. Please return to our site for updates on improvements and events.

Meetings are held at 6:30 PM, the first Thursday of the month, at the flying site. All interested parties are invited to attend.
